The French Desk Is Open

Rural FranceThe recent introduction of attractive tax incentives for productions shooting in France, required an advice desk to show international productions the way through.  It’s now in the process of being set-up to be ready for business by August 24.

The French Producer’s Guild is setting up the American and International Desk to advise foreign producers on finding a French company to work with and to allow them access to the rebate.  The desk will be run by producers experienced in dealing with American and other international productions.

Board members include, Eric Altmayer of Mandarin Cinema, George Bermann of Partizan Films and the first American member, Catalaine Knell of Franglais Films.

Sarkozy Hires Glamourous New Minister

Glamorous French TV news presenter and journalist Christine KellyNicolas Sarkozy, has just been picked by France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy to be part of his cabinet.

Christine, known for often appearing in pictures in her bikini, will become minister for overseas territories. Mr Sarkozy believes she will add to his ‘rainbow’ government because she is attractive and understands the modern world.  And I’ve just heard Fern Britton has quit This Morning and will leave in July….
